Managed to stick a yucca needle through my right ring finger this morning. Given that I was already half-way up Green Mountain, I had to decide whether or not to turn around, since there wasn't anything I could do about it except suck on the wound (or rub blood all over my clothes) as I was bleeding like a stuck pig (not that I have any idea how pigs bleed when stuck). I decided to finish off the hike (I was half-way up, after all), and despite exertion and dilated capilaries (to shed all the head I was generating, you know), it stopped bleeding fairly quickly.

It was a reasonably nice morning for hiking -- not as hot as it was a couple days ago.

It was short-lived pain -- I'd totally forgotten about it an hour or two later (and can barely see the wound on my finger anymore).

It sure bled a lot for something so small, though.
