...When I say my cat is going stir-crazy, I mean that he is going batshit insane.

I think I may have to let him out to get lost for a while.

Speaking as one who is up at 4:00 am for the 10 millionth night in a row because of a batshit insane cat I understand completely. The vet offered me traquilizers for her a while back, which I really didn't want to do, but I'm gonna need them for myself if I don't get some freaking sleep. Tomorrow I will get them for her. The day after that I start taking them myself if they don't work on her.

While the cat does occasionally keep (wake?) me up, mostly it seems to be developing a raging case of separation anxiety, and is starting to make any trip though my front door an adventure.

Every morning, it's the Insane Cat Posse at my house.

Well, that explains why the cat wants out so much... It wants to make it down to Oklahoma and hang out.

My cat has reached that delicate age at which felines begin to "vocalize", as the vet puts it. I call it senility. She emits these loud mournful yodels at random times of day and night, which sound amazing like panicked cries of "Where is everybody? I'm alone in the dark!" Sometimes she's downstairs. Sometimes she's six inches from my sleeping face.

PS Hi Doug!

I wish my cat would start working on getting old and plump, instead of being so high-strung. Of course, I've long since come to the conclusion that it's never going to happen.

And hi back! People still unplugging servers in your office?
