Today, I got my student visa.

In one week... Well, nothing particularly interesting is happening a week from now. But...

In two weeks, I'm leaving the country.

In three weeks, I'm arriving in Tokyo, Japan.

In four weeks, I'm moving into my digs near Shakujii Kouen, in Nerima, Tokyo.

In five weeks, classes start.

In that span, I'll be having a birthday in Taipei, I'll most probably see the cherry blossoms and eat plenty of festival food (and drink a lot), sing a bit of karaoke, and meet an awful lot of people, both people I already know and people I don't know yet.

Interesting times. It's kind of hard to take it all in.

It's fantastic that this adventure is so close to finally happening. Hope you occasionally post while you're there!

Well, I'll have to see if they have teh internets in Japan, but it's possible.

Just remember that the day you leave is when everything exciting starts to happen at home too! >;D

Well, if by exciting, you mean leveling up, then I believe you. :-P

It definitely won't be boring!

I dunno about that.

Okay, maybe not. But after all that, when I'm head down in the studying, it might get boring.

Or not. I remember living in Italy studying Italian... never got bored. Just taking a walk is interesting... provided you don't walk the same route each time, but take the time to walk different ways and talk to different people. Storekeepers at small shops worked well for me.

Ahh, how part of me envies you and how the rest of me is happy for you. Do be sure to tell us of your adventures.

Well, I only say that because I am confident in my ability to get bored by anything.

It's unlikely I actually will, though.
