14 Days: Addendum

Heh, just saw this hilarious commercial which captures exactly how I feel ordering food in Japan:

This woman is standing in a fast food joint (presumably in the U.S., judging by accents), and the clerk asks her what if she wants something. She (obviously not really understanding) pauses a bit and says "yes" with this confused smile on her face. Then he asks her if she wants various things with it (onions, pickles, lettuce, etc., etc.) and she just gives the confused smile and says "yes" again. And so on, as the clerk gets more and more incredulous about her order... Finally, it cuts to a shot of him bringing her this ginormous sandwich that would even frighten even your average American.

Cue solution -- the ad was apparently for some language software on the DS.

But, oh, I know how that feels. I'd so buy that right now. :)
