[Good lord, this new entry page really sucks.]

Got a party tomorrow night at my place. If you're reading this, you can probably invite yourself (just let me know and I'll tell you the details). Of course, most of the locals reading this already know about it, as do a couple non-locals. It's a Festivus party. There will -- probably -- be no pole. Or Airing of Grievances. Or Feats of Strength. So, hmmm... Maybe not that much of a Festivus party. But that's okay, I'm making pumpkin cheesecake right now.

I suppose the party couldn't come at a better time, because I find myself to be in a lousy, lousy mood. Not "bad mood" (grumpy? Kill all the politicians?) lousy, but "blah" (unmotivated? Dreary? Brain the size of a planet?) lousy. I hear that this is sometimes called "depression." Actually, perhaps an apt word would be "lonely." I suppose I more or less know why, but that doesn't change things much. Although I am moderately tempted to whine in my journal and such. Whine, whine, whine. I don't have much patience for the "drama" side of LiveJournal, though, so probably won't. Much.

Hasn't really had an effect on work -- still got in a full day today, although at this exact moment I've broken out the sangiovese and am probably down for the count for the rest of the night (hopefully this won't result in an "interesting" pumpkin cheesecake when I get to mixing the second one here). It has had an effect on studying -- I haven't recovered from the hit that that took during the crud. And I'm really frustrated with it, too, and although it's hard to say how much of that is internal and how much is external, I'm nevertheless a bit disappointed with my progress. Perhaps a trip up to the mountains to go snowshoeing will help -- the weather seems to be taunting me, though, because now that I've finally (more or less -- 99%) recovered from the cold, it looks like there might be some weather by Saturday. On Saturday. And I don't really want to be wandering in the mountains in bad weather. Hrm.

I should get my Lego Star Destroyer on Monday, though. Apparently it's in Illinois right now.
