Morbid Thoughts

So, I noticed something interesting this morning (in the shower).

Every city I've lived in has been prominently nuked on-screen. Generally while I was actually living there.

Kansas City was prominently nuked in The Day After when I lived there. (I grew up in Kansas City.)

Houston was prominently nuked in Independence Day when I lived there. That was the best part of the movie in my opinion -- I tend to cheer during that part. (I went to college in Houston.)

Colorado Springs was nuked in Stargate SG1 (well, effectively nuked, anyway), although I don't think I was living there at the time. I think that was before. And it was an alternate universe. Okay, this one I need to work on -- still, being the home of Norad, there may be better examples, but I only lived there about a year and a half, from mid-1998 to the end of 1999, so this one's a bit shaky.

Denver (where I live now) was prominently nuked in Jericho just recently (yes, yes, I need to watch the last two episodes).

So, if anyone wants their city prominently obliterated on-screen, let me know, and I'll see what I can do.
