...I don't know why anyone pays for expedited shipping. Consider the following story:

Thursday, during meeting, co-worker mentions he would buy my old iPod. Sometime that evening (September 21st), I finally got around to ordering new one. Email sent to me says "1-2 days to ship, 3-5 business days transit" and says I should get it September 29th. Later confirmation email pushes that back to October 2nd, estimating that they'll ship it out, oh, today.

Mail on Friday, September 22nd -- package shipped. Estimated arrival date, September 27th.

Saturday, September 23rd, it occurs to me that maybe I should track the package on FedEx's website. Note that package has already arrived in Denver -- from Shanghai via Anchorage and Indianapolis.

Monday, September 25th, at approximately 9:23AM, package arrives at my door.

Besides wondering why you'd ever pay extra for shipping, it's astonishing how quickly stuff can get delivered halfway around the world in this modern day and age. Realiably. Routinely. Simply astonishing.

[And remember that power brick I bought from Dell, where they said to expect about a week to ship, and up to two weeks transit? Showed up two days later.]

Anyway, watched some video on it (looked quite decent, actually). Loaded my full library up on it (and it's still way more than half empty). Hooked up the car stereo to it and played music.

It's black. It's pretty. It's got my name engraved on the back. It's got an astounding amount of storage space. There's nothing not to like.

Once last thing, before I forget -- for the record, one little thing not to like -- not remotely fond of iTunes 7. Or the fact I had to upgrade to it to sync with the iPod.

Okay, fixed the astronomy knowledge test. If you took the one before, this is a new (slightly easier) test. Still quite hard, though.

Just to show you how hard, here's a possible score:
