head shot

Well, another week goes by, and my team finally wins a game (they're starting to look better, but they've got some issues. For the interested -- ha -- I rank them 25th this week). So, here are this week's rankings:

  1. Philadelphia Eagles (4-0)
  2. Minnesota Vikings (2-1)
  3. New England Patriots (3-0)
  4. New York Giants (3-1)
  5. Indianapolis Colts (3-1)

And now that we've got at least three games under the belt for each team (and four for most), it's time to start trying to predict next week's winners (predicted winner in CAPS):

  • VIKINGS @ Texans
  • Raiders @ COLTS
  • BUCCANEERS @ Saints
  • GIANTS @ Cowboys
  • BROWNS @ Steelers
  • Lions @ FALCONS
  • Dolphins @ PATRIOTS
  • Bills @ JETS
  • JAGUARS @ Chargers
  • Rams @ SEAHAWKS
  • CARDINALS @ 49ers
  • Panthers @ BRONCOS
  • Ravens @ REDSKINS
  • Titans @ PACKERS

Take it for what it's worth. None of these predictions seem terribly far-fetched, at least.

Picked up some random manga the other day. In Japanese, of course. Of particular note is ヒカルの碁 (Hikaru no Go), which is apparently about some guy who wakes up the ancient spirit of a (female) go-playing master in a go board (碁盤, goban), who then takes up residence in his mind, and helps him overcome his go-playing rivals. Um, well, yeah, it's clearly Japanese. And I have the first issue. Woo. I dunno, it could be good. Ultimately, I guess it doesn't matter what it is, it's practice.

Also some random issue of ワンピース (One Piece) and Deeper Samurai キョウ (Kyo). Not sure I'm really interested in either, but the Tattered Cover had them half-off, so what the heck. I also have the first three issues of Alien 9 somewhere on the way from Japan. I suppose they'll probably show up in the next week or so. I'll have to go check out the Japanese bookstore in Sakura Square at some point in the near future, too.

And there it is.
