Everything was good.
Berlioz, Roman Carnival Overture. Grieg, Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 (the only not-as-bright moment of the night -- no chorus). Camille Saint-Saëns, Bacchanale from Samson et Dalila (a pleasant surprise, not listed on the web page).
Then, Van Cliburn playing Grieg's Piano Concerto in A Minor. Totally awesome.
Then, two encores by Van Cliburn. Totally totally awesome.
I really wish I knew what the first piece was (sounded vaguely like Liszt), the second was Chopin's Polonaise in A-Flat Major. I must find out somehow, maybe somebody reviewed the concert or something.
Did I mention it was totally awesome? Because it was completely totally awesome.
