Loved this quiz! I wish I had gotten an 100, though. Your spelling choices made me laugh, loved the way you peppered names w/umlauts, extra a's, and so on. You should have tried reversing the i and the e in Niels Bohr, though, to add complications. I probably did better than people my age because no one my age has taken it :-( I didn't see amberdine there, but maybe she used a different screen name.

Aren't you supposed to post the results in your journal? :-P

For the record, it looks like the current high score (out of fifteen takers so far) is 90% (19/21), and the average score is maybe 60%.

I think I made a properly difficult test. I suspect I would have gotten around 80% on it if I hadn't made it myself. :)

90!?! Jealousssyyyy it burns, it burns!

Grumble. Maybe they used a dictionary or google.

Yeah, I should post the results--I never do though (too embarrassed or whatever). Maybe I'll make an exception this time, if I can still retrieve them.

Hey, speaking of Niels Bohr, do you remember--did you ever see--on the Simpsons when they're watching some school movie, and it's called "the boring world of niels bohr?" I loved that.

Did you read "The only known jump across time" in Fantasy & Science Fiction? It featured the true inventor of the van de graaf generator.... (that was some years ago, though...)

Heh, my friend and physics classmate from Rice, got 90%, too. He should have gotten 95%, but there was an error on one of the questions (oops).

Guess which one got him?

Anyway, didn't the Simpsons or the story...

Didn't SEE...

I'm going to get my bro. to take the test. He did a PhD in physics :-)

Can't imagine which name your friend missed--tell me! But I bet I can guess which test question was in error. I skipped it, I think. The one where you were playing with clerk/clark, right? Only you didn't give the right answer?
Douglas Triggs: moondoubt72 on September 21st, 2006 04:46 pm (UTC)
There were two right answers on that one -- only one gave you the point, though. He picked the wrong one.

And the name he missed: Van de Graaff.
asakiyume: holycarpasakiyume on September 21st, 2006 04:51 pm (UTC)
hahaha.... which I've been missing too :-) van de graafffffffff......

I will never forget that extra f again.

So that other guy's name is Clerk, pronounced Clark? Cause you gave the "clerk" option twice....
Douglas Triggs: astronomydoubt72 on September 21st, 2006 07:25 pm (UTC)
I'm actually not sure how it's pronounced -- I've always pronounced it "Clerk."

Okay, now with pictures! (Check out the first page, too.)

All you need to paste it is go to your profile, go to tests, click on your percentage/score, and cut and paste the code into LJ. I think.
