Engrave The iPod
...Still haven't decided about getting a new 80GB iPod (as cool as it is, the 8GB Nano is just not useful). Not so impressed with the whiteness of my current one, but still I maintain a slim resistance to the new unit's beautiful blackness.

Anyway, if I do get one, it will (of course) have to be engraved. But with what?

And so, I ask the peanut gallery for suggestions.

How about all those weird numbers?

How about 音楽? (Or something like that.)

The web interface, at least, doesn't handle Asian characters (or else I already know what I'd put on it).

And I'm not going to stick romaji in there (like ongaku). So, something in English.

If you order one from Apple Japan, I think you can use kanji in the engraving. The price is about the same and you can always just change the iPod langauge to English.

Thought about it, but I'm guessing shipping might be an issue then.

Also... ¥42,800 is a tad more than $349.

Well, my iPod allows me to have the language set to Japanese...at that point, wouldn't it let you have "ongaku" in japanese? hehe
Douglas Triggsdoubt72 on September 14th, 2006 10:35 pm (UTC)
I leave mine set to 日本語 in the language defaults half the time. That's not really the issue, though.

well, then I have no clue. Let's see here. How about:

Meow. I like "Meow" hehe, though I'm not sure if you would

Something unexplainable and profound. Perhaps the name of a sauce, or your favorite ingredient at Yuan's. My suggestions include:

Hoisin
Pineapple
Ginger (nah, scratch that, too girly)
Waffles

Or you could ask the cat. "Meow" might be a nice engraving.

How did I know you'd add the word "pineapple" after that? lol

Hmmm. Must ponder.
