Random Photoblogging
As some of you may or may not know, I collect refrigerator magnets. Why? ...Because.

At any rate, early here in the move, I moved the collection from the old fridge to the new. So, just for the hell of it, I decided to take a picture (and because it's freakin' insanely hot around here, thirty-plus degrees above normal, unless April got somehow confused with July, and too freakin' hot to do anything useful inside without blasting the AC, which for the record isn't remotely keeping up because I waited until it was over 90 freakin' degrees inside to turn it on. Plus, I think the heat's making my computer unstable. But never mind all that, follow the cut, you).

And yes, I centered the picture on that particular magnet on purpose, as I suspect there is someone reading this who might be jealous of it. Mwahahaha.

Fuck you very much.

At least I'm enjoying the weather. I'm almost warm!

Gilroy Garlic Festival. In July. Two words: road trip?

Hey, I can send you a fridge magnet next. Looks like you like natural scenes 'n' things more than, say, political statements or Far Side or stuff. Thanks for The Pillows song btw--and those thanks come not only from me but from my progeny, who were like, Oh my God! Where did you get this??

They think you are so cool.

Well, I collect fridge magnets from places I've been. National parks, museums, cities, plus some astronomy ones. I don't (for the most part) collect random ones, although I do have a few oddball ones I somehow ended up getting for free at SF cons or something (clasic movie posters, weird aliens I use to hold pictures), and I still have a Houston Astros 1997 schedule magnet for no particular reason.

So... Uh, I'm not sure. I wouldn't want, say, a random "scenic Niagra Falls" or "Fall Foliage of Vermont" one unless I'd actually been there (again, anyway -- since I started collecting). So I'd actually be more interested in something random or amusing ("look, a squirrel magnet").

I'll see what I can find by way of random and amusing (in slow time--there are places near here with fun magnets, but I don't get there often). I promise not to send you the random magnets from our fridge (e.g., local radiology place for some reason sent out promotional magnets, or leftover "WIC Works Wonders!" magnets from long ago, or a couple of fighter jet magnets, one of which is missing its nose, so would most certainly crash if it could ever get airborne).

Hmmm... What kind of jets?
asakiyumeasakiyume on April 14th, 2006 12:45 am (UTC)
Welll... It's a good thing they come labeled, because I wouldn't have a clue otherwise. One says "F22" on it and the other says "(something illegible) Hornets."

F/A-18, US Navy carrier-based strike fighter.

I assume that's the one that's missing the nose?

Actually, those two both have their noses. There must have been a third that lost its nose, and eventually I must have just tossed it.

I like that userpic, btw. The problem with going directly from your e-mail to answer a comment is that you don't--I should say, **I* don't--get the chance to choose which userpic to use--it automatically goes to your (my) default one.

Well, often I'm still on the web page when I see these, but even when not, I always click on the link for the full entry, so I see everything before I reply, and it gives me an option to pick one then.
