Ah, Yes.
The Onion, with important baseball news.

The story would work perfectly well for the Eagles, too.

Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles
Actually until now I did not understand why you are a fun of Royals, not Rockies or Astros. But now I understand why (I did not know Royals is based in Kansas City).
Speaking of the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles, as you know they have a lot of enthusiastic fans even though the team is a late comer (the newest team), locally located and used to be always an underdog. Why the Eagles attracts people and mass media is mainly or at least partly due to its outspoken manager, Nomura or Nomu-san or Nomu-yan (in Osaka-ben). As you may know, he was a long-time slugger-catcher who played for the Nankai Hawks (currently the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks). But he has come to attract mass media’s attention in a different way, thanks to his far more outspoken wife, Sachiyo, who got in a tax evasion trouble several years ago, which eventually forced Nomu-san to resign his post as manger of the Tigers. Anyway, he is now the oldest manger in the Japanese professional baseball league, but keeps being outspoken or boyaku more than any other managers do.

Re: Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles
Actually, I am a fan of the Astros and Rockies, but less so than a fan of the Royals. If they were playing each other:

Royals > Rockies > Astros > everyone else > Red Sox > Yankees.

I didn't know about Nomura's wife, although I did know he got a lot of attention (he always seems to be being quoted after games), and I knew he was the oldest Manager in Japan, and an ex-player and such.
